Ezra Home Care’s commitment to providing exceptional care to seniors in need has never been more important than now. With the rapid spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19), many family members are shut out from visiting loved ones, increasing stress and anxiety for everyone.

Our team continues to work tirelessly to ensure that all our clients’ needs are met. To that end, we’d like to share several updates on how we’re supporting members of our community and helping our clients and caregivers remain safe and healthy in the wake of this pandemic.

As one of the few agencies accredited by the Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts, we have always upheld the highest health and safety standards. Today, we are closely adhering to the evolving CDC Covid-19 Guidelines and are taking the following additional precautions:

For Caregivers
    • Ezra Home Care is conducting daily wellness status checks to ensure that our caregivers are asymptomatic and to reinforce the CDC Covid-19 Guidelines regarding hygiene, social distancing, and international and domestic travel.
    • Any caregiver who reports having symptoms, has tested positive for Covid-19, or has been in contact with anyone who has symptoms or has tested positive for Covid-19, will be removed from cases, immediately. The caregiver will be requested to call a doctor and will be required to stay in self-isolation for at least 14 days. These caregivers will not be redeployed until they have provided clearance from their physician.
    • Client’s family members will be notified immediately, and will be given the opportunity to use a different caregiver.
For Clients
    • In addition to caregiver wellness checks, we are reaching out to with clients and family members to ensure that they remain symptom free. We are requesting that family members contact us immediately - 617-527-9000, should you become aware of any of the following:
      • Your loved one is experiencing Covid-19 symptoms, or has tested positive for Covid-19.
      • Your loved one has been in contact with anyone who has symptoms or has tested positive for Covid-19.
    • To minimize Covid-19 exposure, we are strictly limiting the number of clients each caregiver visits.

For Non-Essential Personnel

As of March 13, 2020, all non-essential office personnel have been working from home. We remain connected through phone, text, email and video conference, in order to continue to provide the highest level of communication to our clients, caregivers and referral partners.

Covid-19 Client Assessments and Caregiver Introduction Protocols
    • We have always been proud of our ability to develop individualized Care Plans that help bring joy and comfort to our clients (nuances including - how they like to drink their tea or coffee, to whether they prefer a morning or evening shower or bath). Now, instead of conducting On-site Assessments, we are performing “virtual” Assessments, relying on easy-to-use video conferencing technology including FaceTime, Hangouts and zoom.com.
    • In an effort to minimize the number of people coming into your loved one’s home, the first time a new caregiver comes on site, our Client Support Manager will attend, virtually (during regular business hours).
